Visit the Potential Huntington Community Forest!

Past event
Nov 30, 2019, 9 to 10 AM

Please join the Huntington Conservation Commission and other community leaders and members for an informational walk to explore a parcel of land that could become a community forest for Huntington.

When: November 30th and December 1st at 9:00am (choose which to attend or join us for both!)
Where: Meet at Brewster Pierce Memorial School
What: This will be a perimeter walk of the parcel the Conservation Commission is exploring as the potential new Community Forest. We will walk into the lower meadow behind the school, then walk across the road to discuss the river access and have a good view of the property looking back towards Camels Hump. From there we'll walk up Trapp road to explore the South Eastern boundary and it's views. Since it's deer season we will not enter the forest.

A public meeting will be held on December 12th at 7pm at the Huntington Library - these walks will be your chance to explore the property and learn more ahead of the hearing. We encourage all that are interested to participate in the walks and the hearing to be sure your voice is heard as we discuss the potential conservation of and access to this property for the future. Please join us!
