Description of the Event:

In collaboration with Jericho Energy Task Force and Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, Essex Energy Committee is organizing an afternoon of entertainment, education, and practical solutions aimed at buttoning up for winter, all at the Double E (i.e., the premiere new music and entertainment venue adjacent to Essex Cinemas). The goal is to inform residents of Essex and elsewhere in the County of how to save money through weatherization -- whether through do-it-yourself or Efficiency VT certified energy contractors-- and to combat the effects of climate change. Among the various incentives are home energy visits through E-VT where participants will get a $200 coupon off of Energy Star appliances.

Key elements include:

+ Home Weatherization Trailer (parked at Essex Cinemas)

+ Kid's activities (outside Double E – incl. SunCommon inflatable castle, face painting, and a stationary lightbulb bike)

+ Presentations and films re: weatherization / climate change "drawdown" (inside Double E)
