Meet Wed April 2 4:30-5:30 at the Bakersfield School to talk about building a sugar house and sugaring program for the Bakersfield school and community. A community sugaring project could be an opportunity to connect our students to local history, industry and different generations of Bakersfield residents in a fun, productive and enduring activity. Imagine our students gathering sap and learning about the biology, the economics and the hard work it takes to create syrup. Imagine our community members gathering together to help boil the sap down and to share sugaring skills and stories. Imagine a community effort to build an efficient and beautiful sugar house in our village.
