National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family Support Groups are hosted around the state to provide a safe nonjudgmental environment where caregivers and close friends can discuss concerns of individuals in their lives with a mental health condition. The group benefits from one another's collective knowledge and experience. A NAMI Family Support Group facilitator is trained NAMI leader who facilitates the NAMI Support Groups in their community. They play an important role in bringing people together and leading productive discussions centered around shared experience and empathy. The NAMI volunteer training that provides the tools and support needed to run a successful group is coming up in Williston, Vermont on November 16-17. To learn more about the opportunity to lead and serve others, contact NAMI directly at 802-876-7949 or send an inquiry to program@NAMIVT.org.
