"PAYING FOR COLLEGE & CARS" CLASS AT THE WATERBURY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Past event
Apr 10, 2014, 5:30 to 7 PM

The Waterbury Public Library is partnering with the Vermont State Treasurer's Office and the Vermont Department of Libraries to promote Money Smart Week in Vermont, April 5-12. The American Library Association is sponsoring the national public awareness campaign as a means of mobilizing libraries in the effort to help Americans better manage their personal resources.
To that end, on April 10 at 5:30 PM, The Waterbury Public Library is pleased to be bringing Sammi Moulton and Erin Broe Swafford from Merchants Bank to present a "money smart" program, "Paying for College and Cars", geared for teens, young adults, and adults. During this program, you will learn general information on installment loans, including car loans and student loans, and hopefully be able to
• Differentiate between secured and unsecured installment loans.
• Know why installment loans cost less than rent-to-own services.
• Identify the factors lenders use to make loan decisions.
• Identify the questions to ask when purchasing a car.
• Describe various types of college loans and loan programs
Class size is very limited, so please call at 244-7036 to register. Light snacks will be available.
