Using DNA Tests to Solve Genealogical Mysteries

The VT Genealogy Library at Ft Ethan Allen is hosting a 90-minute class "Using DNA Networks to Solve Brick Walls" by Ed McGuire. In this talk Ed will describe how DNA Networks (clusters of people all connected to your DNA results) can be used to rapidly identify a common ancestor you all share and whose identity may resolve long-standing holes in your family.tree. Using a variety of tools from simple spreadsheets to automated online apps he'll demonstrate this technique using real-life examples.

This class is open to the public, the fee is $15 ($10 for members), it will include a multi-page handout and visitors will be able to research all day at the library for free. Resources include over 4500 books and 15 computers connected to Ancestry.com, FindMyPast, AmericanAncestors & 2 major Quebec databases plus a skilled volunteer staff to assist you.
