Forum on "Fueling Senior Power", sponsored by the VT Chapter of the Alliance for Retired Americas, will be held on Saturday, November 9, at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, 130 Main St. Guest speakers include former Governor Madeleine Kunin, Richard Fiesta, National Director of the Alliance for Retired Americans, VT Representative Dan Noyes and VT Senior program directors. Seniors represent the largest voting group in VT and in the United States. Yet, programs critical for the health and well being of Seniors (such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid nationally, and, locally such as meals on wheels, safe housing, access to transportation, etc.) continue to be under funded or are constantly under attack. WHY? This Forum will provide Seniors with information which will promote their ability to advocate for Senior needs. Registration for the program: 9:00 AM-9:30. Forum begins at 9:30 with Madeleine Kunin as the "kick off" speaker. A light lunch will be served from Noon-1:00 PM with lively conversation expected! Cost: $5 includes handouts, morning coffee, and the lunch.
