Communal cooking has been at the center of the village for centuries, providing a shared experience for people of all ages to engage and form relationships within the community. While modern conveniences have made our lives much easier in some ways, it has also led to the disappearance of this shared cooking experience. We would like to rekindle this tradition in Guilford by bringing our energy and talents together to prepare food at the fire (or in our case, the stove) on Sunday, November 3rd from 10am-2pm. We will plan to collaboratively prepare a simple lunch of stone soup and discuss the ways in which we can make community cooking a part of our little town on an ongoing basis.
Please bring some vegetables, or broth to contribute to the soup. If you'd like to bring a cutting board and sharp knife for cutting, that would be great too.
This is a kid friendly event! It should be a beautiful day for playing outside around the center too.
Email raganla@gmail.com if you have any questions. RSVPs aren't required, but are encouraged!
