Second Saturday Contra & Square Dance Continues November 9
The Second Saturday contra and square dance in nearby Williamstown continues on Saturday, November 9 at 7:30 p.m., featuring live music by legendary fiddler George Wilson and Marko Packard on guitar and flute. Will Mentor will teach and call the dances, this time using the gender-free roles of "Larks" (left) and "Ravens"(right) to replace the traditional roles of Ladies and Gents.
Experience isn't necessary, all dances are taught. No need to bring a partner, come alone or bring friends. And if this dance is your first time, collect your coupon for free admission to your next dance.
Dances are held second Saturdays, monthly, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at 777 Main Street, Williamstown, MA in the Williamstown Community Preschool—formerly the Methodist Church—at the corner of Route 2 and Route 43.
Admission is $12, or $5 for students and $25 for families. Barters welcome (for example, helping with cleanup). Contributions to the snack potluck during the break are welcome but must be nut-free.
The dance is presented by North Berkshire Community Dance, with the support of the Mass Cultural Council, Dance Flurry, and Country Dance and Song Society. For more information, visit northberkshiredance.org.
