The Hi-Speed Teen Brain: Getting Rewired Till Twenty-Five

Does your son wear shorts in the middle of winter? Does your daughter text friends until midnight? Welcome to adolescence, those teenage years of risk-taking, thrill-seeking, BFFs, and high-octane emotions. We used to blame it on hormones, but now we know it’s mostly in their heads. And that it goes on for years longer than we realized. “The Hi-Speed Teen Brain: Getting Rewired Till Twenty-Five,” explains what’s happening in that skull, and why, and what parents can do to help their children succeed as teenagers.

Please join us at the LEAD (Leadership Education the Anti-Drug) community event on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 6:30-8 PM, at the Charlotte Central School Library, for a talk by Dean Whitlock, an expert on adolescent brain development and drug and alcohol prevention. Questions? Lynn Camara, SAP Counselor and LEAD Advisor, 425-6672 or lcamara@cssu.org.
