Greetings Friends, Family, Neighbors,
As preparations continue for Sunday's Feast, there are a few more invitations to extend and some details to attend to. This month, the menu will be roast lamb and root vegetables, green salad, bread, and apple pies for dessert. Before dinner we will sing one of Enid's songs, a time to remember, in many voices, our dear neighbor and great farming advocate. And so, we ask people to arrive promptly at 4pm. Here are some details:
- Gratitude Feast 4pm at Huntington Town Hall Sunday 11/3
- Please RSVP (even if you have mentioned to me that you are coming) by sending an email to this account: brushbrookcommunityfarm@gmail.com. In your email, please include:
1. Number of adults and children
2. Any vegetarians?
3. Interest in helping? See shifts below, and please specify.
- This meal is not a potluck. The food, raised mostly here in Huntington, will be served family-style and is offered as a gift from the generous land of this place. Many hands will have carefully tended, cleaned, chopped, washed, and seasoned the food that will be laid out on the tables on Sunday. Generosity inspires generosity, the gift begets gratitude. Fellowship and goodwill can make for good medicine in troubled times. The only thing we ask you to bring is a plate and glass, as there is no kitchen at the hall. We will have silverware from the school, as well as paper plates and cups for those who are not able to bring their own.
- We could use a few more folks who are willing to help with the following shifts:
Friday 11/1 harvesting apples 3pm at the corner of Trapp and Main Road
Sunday 11/3 veggie prep at the bakery 10am - Noon, or Noon - 2pm.
Monday 11/4 final clean of Town Hall 12 noon.
- Is there someone in town you might want to extend a personal invitation to? All are welcome to the table, and RSVPs are encouraged.
Many thanks,
Adam
