20TH ANNUAL ROLAND BATTEN MEMORIAL LECTURE
on Architecture and Design will be presented by James Cutler
"The Circumstances of Design and Reality"
Thursday, November 7th at 6:30pm-- FREE
Contois Auditorium at City Hall, Burlington, Vermont

This lecture series was founded in 1999 in memory of Shelburne-based architect and planning commission member, Roland Batten.
Based upon a deep love of the land, James Cutler has designed over 100 custom homes and other institutional projects and is also a Founder of the Bainbridge Island Land Trust. HIs passion for land conservation and his rigorous study of place through his work is a defining theme. HIs works-- beautiful, powerful and with powerful senses of place --- are respectfully evocative of each site and purpose.

Please join James Cutler as he shares his work and expertise that have enhanced the role of architecture and design in our society.

Doors open at 6:00 , lecture begins at 6:30.
