This Thursday evening we'll be gathering in the Student Center above Dunbar to make signs and plan for Saturday. Paint and other materials will be provided. Migrant Justice has provided some chants and other suggestions to get us going.
Come learn about the Milk With Dignity campaign, the work Migrant Justice is doing, and what we can do as neighbors and community members to amplify the voices of immigrant and migrant workers.
On Saturday morning we'll be gathering to deliver a letter to management at the Morrisville Hannaford location. This is in response to Hannaford's Executive team ignoring multiple letters regarding the Milk With Dignity campaign directly from Migrant Justice. This day of action will see community members all over; at Hannaford locations from "Portland to Providence, From Burlington to Boston" raising their collective voice in solidarity and protest to inhumane working conditions.
If you didn't already know, the first Milk With Dignity campaign was successful and culminated in a signed contract with Ben and Jerry's to source dairy from farmer's with working contracts with dairyworkers. This has resulted in better working and living conditions for folks in communities like Craftsbury.
