Celebrate your right to vote just before Election Day 2020 this year: join Vermont Suffrage Centennial Alliance (VSCA) at "Moments of Reckoning in the Campaign for Women's Voting Rights" on Sunday, November 3rd at 4:30 p.m. Middlebury College Professor of History Amy Morsman explores the complex perspectives and attitudes within the woman suffrage movement, showcasing points of convergence as well as moments of discord, when identity shaped suffragists' decisions about priorities, privilege, and the way to win the vote.

This FREE presentation and discussion takes place in The Classroom on the second floor of event co-host Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center in Burlington.

Morsman's work is focused on the historical evolution of gender roles, race relations, and regional differences. Assisted by students, she curated the "Votes . . . for Women?" exhibit at the College's Museum of Art, with vintage photographs, banners, and memorabilia, which she'll share, along with stories of all kinds of people who led, followed, and even opposed women's right to vote. Learn more and share Moments of Reckoning in the Campaign for Women's Voting Rights Facebook event page. RSVPs to info@VTsuffrage2020.org are appreciated, not necessary.

This event is one of many to commemorate next year's 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution presented by the Vermont Suffrage Centennial Alliance, a statewide group of volunteers led by the League of Women Voters.
