On Saturday, November 2nd at 9am Superheroes will take to the streets for the UCS Superhero 5k. The race will start at the Bennington Recreation Center. Runners will turn onto Grove Street, head west onto County Street, south on Benmont Ave, and turn left on Main Street, which will be closed for traffic beginning at 8:30am. Our superheroes will then turn south on Branch Street, back to County Street, south onto Grove Street and back to the Bennington Recreation Center. The Kids' Dash will take place on Grove Street at 9:45am and is free to all children. Registration and packet pickup is available Friday, Nov. 1st from 5pm to 7:30 pm at UCS at 100 Ledge Hill Drive in Bennington and the morning of the race from 7:00am to 8:30am at the Bennington Recreation Center at 655 Gage Street in Bennington. Gage Street from Safford to Bradford will be closed for a short time beginning at 8:30am for the safety of the runners.
Proceeds from UCS Superhero 5k benefit the client wellness fund. Wellness activities can help individuals focus, overcome obstacles, get along with others and even fight off illness. Wellness programs are broad and can include physical fitness, seminars, workshops, classes, field trips, artistic endeavors such as trips to museums and a wide array of activities that promote overall well-being for our clients. Come out and cheer on all of the superheroes!
