According to a 2014 survey of farmworkers in Vermont:
-40% received less than minimum wage
-40% did not have a day off (ever)
-29% worked for 7 or more hours without a break to eat
-20% had their wages withheld illegally

Does this concern you?

If so, join us at the St. Albans Hannaford this Saturday, November 2nd from 10am-11am for the national day of action to demand Milk With Dignity: https://www.facebook.com/events/442037943117259/

Join the Franklin County Progressive Party and other concerned community members as we stand in solidarity with Migrant Justice and take action in Saint Albans to call on Hannaford to ensure human rights for the farmworkers helping to supply their milk .

On 10/3, Migrant Justice launched a campaign publicly calling on the Hannaford supermarket chain to join the program when over 150 farmworkers, farmers, and supporters marched to a Hannaford store in Burlington, VT. Despite repeated invitations, the company has still not responded to Migrant Justice. Nov. 2nd's National Day of Action will turn up the heat and tell Hannaford that it's time to get with the program! (If Ben & Jerry's can do it, so can Hannafords!)

Farmworkers have called for this national day of action because Hannaford is ignoring their invitation to join the ground-breaking Milk with Dignity Program, a program that is transforming the dairy industry and ensuring farmworkers' rights. We are inviting Hannaford to continue this transformation by joining the program. By joining the program, Hannaford can take responsibility for ensuring human rights of workers in their dairy supply chain.
