"THE BLACK BEAR - NATURE'S VORACIOUS OMNIVORE"
Kurt Valenta, founder and president of the outdoor education organization Exordium, will provide a presentation focusing on the smallest of three bear species found in North America. The Black Bear lives in a wide variety of habitats and can move with a lumbering grace and stealth that belies its size. The fiercely protective females and belligerent solitary males are anything but cuddly "Teddy Bears".This is the eighth of nine Fall Series lectures sponsored by the Lamoille Valley Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and will be on Wednesday October 30 at the Commodores Inn, 823 S. Main Street, Stowe. Sessions start promptly at 1:30 p.m. There is a $5 fee for non-members.
