Dear Neighbors,
This coming Monday, the City Council will convene its last of its regular meetings for the month of March and the Council year.
We will hold a very brief Local Control Commission meeting at 7pm where we will be voting to approve several liquor licenses and an outdoor consumption license. Following this meeting, we will convene our Council meeting in Contois Auditorium in City Hall.
We will begin our meeting with a non-renewal of an indoor entertainment permit. We will then move on to debating and voting on six resolutions. The first is regarding the Climate Action Plan and Open Space Protection Plan. We will then be voting on the establishment of the naming policy for the Parks Foundation donations.
Many of you may have read that the School Department wants to enter into a long-term 80 year lease with UVM on the Taft School property. The City Council must vote to authorize that lease. We will then be voting to enter into a License Agreement with Engelberth Construction for the King Street Center project for encumbrance of the sidewalk, greenbelt and non-metered parking spaces on the City's right-of-way.
The last two resolutions relate to the establishment of a nominating committee for the City Commissions and Board appointments as well as job descriptions and a procedure for notification of Commission/Board appointments.
Our last agenda item will be an update on scheduling a presentation from our Auditor.
We will then have council committee reports, comments from councilors and the Mayor. Please keep in mind that you are welcome to come to a council meeting and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm.
We will have a very brief meeting of the Board of Abatement of Taxes.
Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website:

Please keep in mind that at all Council meetings are televised live on Channel 317 on Burlington Telecom.
As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please email or give me a call over the weekend or on Monday.
All my best,
Karen
