History matters. In an age of instant and bullet point reporting an understanding of the current events which shape our common futures ignores the social, political and historical context of those events leaving many of us feeling confused and powerless. State of the world discussion groups are groups in which world citizens take the time to analyze together behind the headlines of the news and to engage in the lost art of face-to face conversations about the facts and interpretations to hopefully reach an understanding of what is and what is not happening in our world.
