Life has not always been peaceful in the Green River environs. Take a lantern-lit walk from the old Hayes farm to what remains of the neighboring Nichols homestead. Along the abandoned woods road we will listen for sounds of the night and find evidence of what befell the Nichols family. Gather round the fire for hot cider and donuts and to hear the gruesome tale. Wear waterproof boots and bring a headlamp or flashlight. Naturalist Patti Smith will be our guide.
