National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, October 26, 2019

The Hardwick Police Department (56 High Street) is a participating drop off location, receiving from 10 am to 2 pm. Many other drop off locations around VT.

When you properly store and get rid of unused medications, you are doing your part to keep Vermont and Vermonters healthy and safe.

Here's one reason why it's so important: More than half of people who misuse prescription medication get it from a friend or relative, often straight out of the medicine cabinet.

But that's not the only reason.

Medications that are not properly stored in your home can be a risk to kids and pets who might accidentally ingest them. And flushing medications or tossing them in the trash is a danger to our waterways and wildlife.
