Michael Arnowitt will perform a colorful and diverse concert of piano music by Bach, Chopin, Brahms, Stravinsky, and a humorous 1922 piece by George Antheil. The concert will also feature three women composers whose music Arnowitt has been researching this year: Lili Boulanger of France's Prelude and Cortege, Verdina Shlonsky of Israel's captivating Pages from the Diary, and Barbara Heller of Germany's kaleidoscopic Furore A Dream.
ARNOWITT BIO
Pianist, composer, and event organizer Michael Arnowitt is one of the most creative musicians of today. His imaginative musical landscapes and extraordinary sense of touch at the piano have delighted audiences in concert halls around the world, from his home base in Vermont and Toronto to Korea, Russia, and many countries all over Europe. His life and music is the subject of a documentary film, Beyond 88 Keys (2004). The documentary, filmed in both the United States and Europe, has been broadcast on public television and has been shown at a variety of film festivals.
