The School Board is preparing a revised budget which we anticipate will be voted on April 15. The final date will be set at this meeting.
Revised budgets are submitted to the voters for two reasons -
1) It is legally required. [17 VSA 2680]
2) It only makes sense. Defeat of a school budget doesn't mean Grand Isle skips having school for a year, abandons the building, and stops paying high school tuition. Every other town where the school budget failed is going through the same process.
Budget revisions are based on new information that has been discovered since the original budget was prepared in January, and input received by the board from parents and community members. If you want to provide input to the budget revision process, this meeting is your chance - or contact any school board member.
