This Saturday join Alexandra Sterling from Delicious Dirt Farm & Apothecary at The Farm Store in Jeffersonville for a workshop on how to make fire cider 🌶 It's a powerful herbal tonic used to prevent colds and flus, and to stimulate the immune system and circulation. It's made many different ways, by many different people, but usually with a base of garlic, onions, ginger, horseradish root, cayenne pepper, apple cider vinegar and honey 🍯. We'll be using our own homegrown turmeric root, ginger root, burdock root, garlic, and cayenne peppers in the workshop!

This workshop will be taught in the spirit of community & celebration of the recent victory for our herbal community. After five years of legal battle, The Fire Cider 3 and the term "fire cider" are free and all charges have been dropped.
The court ruled that fire cider is in fact a generic term and cannot be trademarked (after Shire City Herbals tried to trademark it and sue a group of herbalists aka The Fire Cider 3). This case sets a precedent for protection of future herbal remedies in the "herbal commons" - meaning that if a corporation tries to trademark a generic term, this case can be referred to.
Here's to traditions not trademarks!
