Impacts & Needs for People Affected by Crime

The Hardwick Area Community Justice Center is hosting a training on the impacts and needs of victims and survivors of crime. The training is appropriate for community justice center staff and volunteers and community partners who offer services or work with people affected by crime and other offenses. Family members of people affected by crime are also welcome to attend. The goals of the training are:

To explore how trauma impacts the brain, body and wellness of victims/survivors
To discuss the ecological view of trauma in relation to crime victims/survivors
To learn the most important needs of victims/survivors
To demonstrate tangible ways to meet these needs in all settings and programs

The training was developed and will be delivered by Kate Brayton, MSW, Director of Victim Services for the Vermont State Police. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
