For many years, the Capital City Farmers Market has been located at the Heney parking lot along State Street. While we love the centrality of this location, Montpelier Alive and the market are working together for a long-term space that can accommodate all the market's hopes and dreams for the future. Imagine more vendors selling local produce, prepared foods, and crafts. Imagine more space for kids activities and music, comfortable spots to sit and eat, and convenient amenities.
Please join us at the new Rabble-Rouser lounge (60 Main Street in Montpelier) on Wednesday, October 23 from 5-7pm as we consider possible locations for the future home of the market. Light snacks will be provided and a cash bar is available. Mix and mingle with your neighbors, downtown merchants, and Farmer's Market vendors. We want to hear from you about the future of this amazing community asset!
We have worked with Stephanie Hurley, Assistant Professor of Landscape Design in the Department of Plant & Soil Science at the University of Vermont, and her Landscape Design Fundamentals class to complete a site analysis for the current Heney Lot site and create draft conceptual design plans for two proposed new locations. Review these plans, share your ideas for the market, and enjoy an evening at the new Rabble-Rouser lounge!
