Turtle Flow: Intro to Yoga

A four-part series designed to familiarize you with the practice of yoga. Classes will touch on centering, breathwork (pranayama), physical poses (asana) including reclined, seated and standing flow with concentration on one focused standing pose each week and a short meditation. Take home practice suggestions and activities will be provided but are not required, to encourage sustained benefits of a consistent practice. Tea provided following class for anyone who would like to stay and chat.

This series is ideal for those who have limited or no prior experience with yoga or those desiring to gain confidence before attending classes at a studio or gym. It is not ideal for anyone who is experiencing an active or recent injury.

Please note: This is not an exercise class. It is a slow, gentle, full practice created to enhance wellbeing, relaxation and stress reduction in a supportive environment. Mats, blocks and straps will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. You may also wish to bring a water bottle and a small blanket and/or bath towel.

Class size is limited to four, so please register early. Classes will be led by faith DuBois, a registered yoga teacher and graduate of 200-hour Teacher Training through Laughing River Yoga in Winooski, VT. Register Online or by calling the Swanton Public Library.
