The sixth annual Brick Church Music Series, held at the Old Brick Church in Williston, is presenting it’s seventh performance of the season on Friday evening, April 4th. Headlining the evening will be the Bluegrass Gospel Project.
The Bluegrass Gospel Project has been impressing audiences with expertly rendered performances since its inception in 2001, and has become “one of New England’s premier concert acts” (Seven Days). With folk, pop, and bluegrass songs that range from U2 to Stanley Brothers, from Dylan to Louvin Brothers, from Sam Cooke to Steve Earle, from Bela Fleck to Brett Dennen, the BGP's repertoire now defies easy categorization and continues to thrill audiences with their impeccable vocal and instrumental performances. “A choir of top-notch vocalists…Just try to find a better group of singers.” - Robert Resnik
The opening act will be the Front Porch Foursome. Inspired by folk, contemporary and local musicians, The Front Porch Foursome is known for harmonic blends and tunes that remind us to keep life simple.
The Brick Church Music Series focuses on bringing great art and music to the historic Brick Church while working with non-profit organizations to help raise funds for their worthwhile missions. Proceeds from this concert will benefit the Essex Historical Society.
The evening’s visual artist is Nancy Stone: art created from sketching musicians at the Brick Church Music Series.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. show. Tickets are $10 in advance – on-line or at the Williston town office - or $12 at the door ($8/$10 for children under 12 and seniors).
