Diabetes Prevention Workshop and Cooking Classes

Past event
Nov 7, 2019, 4 to 5 PM

Want to be healthier and feel better? We can help! Our FREE Diabetes Prevention Workshop is a proven program designed to help you make small lifestyle changes. If your doctor has told you you're at risk of diabetes—or if you have certain risk factors like high blood pressure or being overweight—you're not alone. Led by a trained facilitator, you can cut your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by more than half after completing this series of classes. This program offers guidance and support to:
• Solve problems and create plans for action and change
• Make healthier eating choices
• Add more physical activity into your daily life
• Deal with stress
• Understand and respond to your food cues
• Stay on track when eating out
• Learn how to get back on track if you stray from your plans

All participants will have the choice to join us once per month for a free cooking workshop immediately following the conclusion of a Diabetes Prevention class.

When: Beginning Thursday, November 7th from 4-5pm.
Where: Hannaford Career Center in Middlebury
Contact: Courtney Thorn, Chronic Disease Self-Management Coordinator, cthorn@portermedical.org or (802) 388-8860
