The Charlotte Senior Center will sponsor a hike through the Williams Woods conservation area in Charlotte on Tuesday, October 22. Chittenden County Forester, Ethan Tapper, will accompany us as we learn about forest ecology and tree identification.
Williams Woods is an old-growth clay-plain forest off Greenbush Road toward Ferrisburg. There is a 1.2 mile easy loop trail on fairly level terrain with some boardwalks over marshy ground.
We'll meet at 9:00 at the Charlotte Senior Center on Ferry Road and carpool to the trailhead because of limited parking there. Advance registration is required by calling the Senior Center at 425-6345.
