On Wednesday, October 16th @ 6:45 pm in The Plainfield Community Center Gallery above the Coop.Peter Schumann will present a fiddle lecture sermon and premiere his newest Giant Woodcut banner Painting Show Existibity along side his previous exhibition Possibilitarian Uprising. The show is an inspiration to our co-op's future possibility planning.

Joining Peter, Elka ,Maria Schumann and Alexis will be Pavi and Polash sharing songs of inspiration from Bangladesh and India.  In addition, Bad Guy of the Bread and Puppet theater will share a special ancient cannabis blessing song and dance celebrating the harvest. Cider ,apples ,Bread and aïoli will be served.

Bauls are wandering ministrels, poet-philosophers and holy madmen, spiritual seekers in search of true love and pure freedom. This ancient oral tradition comes from rural Bangladesh and West Bengal, India, with influences from Sufism, Tantra and Vajrajana Buddhism. The essence of Baul is universal- Bauls do not believe in boundaries of nationality, gender, race or religion- only pure love.

Polash is an artist and musician from Bangladesh. He encountered the Baul path as a teenager, drawn to the freedom of the music and purity of the philosophy. His guru Fakir Daulad Shah, was a master of Fakir Lalon Shai's lineage. Pavitra is a poet from India raised in New York City. She has been in India since receiving a Fulbright in 2014 to work with shadow puppeteers, cantastoria artists and women storytellers. The journey led back to her birthplace and to her guru, Parvathy Baul. Pavitra and Polash have been based in Santiniketan, India in a small mud-hut studio, where they nurture music, art and Baul practice under the guidance of their gurus. They have been living ,working and performing with Cate Hill Orchard and The Bread &Puppet Theater for the last several months .this event is free , donations shared.Contact Curatrix Alexis Smith 892-371-7239
