Please come join the Williston Fire Department in conjunction with Vermont Cares, on Sunday October 20th, 2019 from 10:00-12:00 noon. Since the first Needle Take Back Day was such a hit, we are hosting another one! This second Needle Take Back Day will be held at the Williston Fire Department in front of the Fire Station. This is a great opportunity to safely dispose of your used, unused, or expired syringes and lancets. The syringes will be properly packaged and disposed of safely. Loose syringes thrown into your household trash can cause accidental needle sticks, potentially causing infections or spreading disease. Sharps that end up in recycling bins can injure trash haulers and recycling workers. Wildlife, pets, even small children can be hurt too. Medications cannot be accepted during this take back day but they can be disposed of at the Williston Police Department.
