The Not So Fast Jam, sponsored by the Summit School of Traditional Music, continues this coming Monday, October 14, from 5:30 to 6:45 at the Center for Arts and Learning, 46 Barre Street, in Montpelier.
Monday will be the second of six weekly jams. These jams are open to any acoustic musician who wants to learn the art and skill of playing with others. Any acoustic instrument is welcome: guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, fiddle, bass, mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, harmonica, concertina, accordion, even a washtub bass.
You can come to all of the remaining jams, or just one or a few. You can register at the Summit School website, https://summitschool.wixsite.com/summitschool/evening-classes, or just show up at the jam. Fees are by donation rather than a set fee.
We'll continue working on the skills of playing with others in jams, and the important skill of playing by ear. We'll do some wonderful tunes, and some famous songs.
Come join the folks who enjoyed the first class. All are welcome!
