Champlain Valley Conservation Partnership Event

Past event
Oct 19, 2019, 9 to 11 AM

Leaders in South Burlington and four neighboring towns have come together to form the Champlain Valley Conservation Partnership. The municipalities of South Burlington, Williston, Shelburne, Hinesburg, and St. George—all recognizing that natural resources cross boundaries--have committed to collaborate in their efforts to conserve and manage land.

Join the partnership and event co-hosts The Nature Conservancy & UVM on October 19th, from 9 AM - 11 AM, at an invasive plant removal event at the Ewing Parcel (part of the H. Laurence Achilles Natural Area at Shelburne Pond), a newly conserved property that sits in both South Burlington and Shelburne. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the partnership, learn the history of the parcel and why it is important for conservation, and learn how to id and remove invasive woody plants.

Registration is required. Participants should contact Ashley Parker (aparker@sburl.com) to register and get more information for this event. Those attending should prepare for a lot of walking and dress appropriately. Parking is off-site. Those attending should look to park at the Bread & Butter Farm Store, at 200 Leduc Farm Rd., Shelburne. Participants will then be walking across the field to Cheesefactory Lane to begin the event.

We hope you'll join us in this celebration of regional conservation and land stewardship!
