World Singing Day, observed annually around the globe on October 19th, will be celebrated in Bristol with two events at Holley Hall.
"Inspirational Songs for Challenging Times: A Workshop with Avery Book" on Saturday, Oct 19, is 1:00-3:30. Participants will learn beautiful songs of peace, courage and unity with great harmonies and take home music and lyrics. All are welcome to raise our voices together, building a sense of joy, community and resourcefulness. Avery is a Burlington based choral director known for his creative and accessible arrangements. Cost is $25. Register on line with Bristol Recreation Department at bristolvt.myrec.com. Or register in person at Art on Main, Emerald Rose or Recycled Reading in downtown Bristol.
"Addison County Community Sing," in Holley Hall at 4:00-5:30, is open to all ages and is a chance to have fun singing new and familiar songs with neighbors. Avery Book will be the main leader along with others. Lyrics and refreshments provided. Suggested donation is $5-10 at the door. All welcome regardless of financial ability.
