Coming up Thursday on Goddard College Community Radio - how incarcerating people affects our communities, the many events in the statewide Button Up weatherization initiative, and climate science truth teller Michael Mann ahead of his public talk at UVM Thursday afternoon.
9:00 - 10:00 am
The League of Women Voters is holding a series of conversations about criminal justice at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier. This week, on Wednesday night starting at 7, the topic is "The Impact of Incarceration: Women, Families, Society." We'll preview the series and hear about this month's topic from at least one of the speakers, Ashley Messier Smart Justice Organizer for the ACLU of Vermont.
Winter is coming. Right on schedule, energy committees around the state are holding workshops for people interested in weatherizing their homes. Some of the local energy committee organizers in our listening area will tell us what they're offering and give tips on the air.

Michael Mann will speak at UVM Thursday, 4:30 - 5:30, on "Climate change denial in the age of Trump." Winner of the AAAS Public Engagement with Science Award and the Tyler Prize—and renowned for his work on the famed "hockey stock graph" of spiking global temperatures—Mann will review the evidence of climate change, and identify efforts by special interests to confuse the public and attack science. He'll also explain why he's optimistic we can avert climate catastrophe. We'll get a flavor of his thinking, ahead of his talk.
