It's been a super summer season for the Northfield Farmers Market. We've significantly grown our base of frequent shoppers, and we've seen lots of new faces on the The Common on Tuesday afternoons. One of the best indicators of a vibrant community farmers market is the number of customers spending their 3SquaresVT benefits there. This summer, nutrition assistance program transactions have vastly increased at the Northfield Farmers Market — four times as many as we've ever done in a full year let alone in a single season! That means we're helping more people than ever before to put fresh, locally grown and made foods on their family's tables.

As has become our custom, the last market of the season is Customer Appreciation Day, when we thank all these good folks for supporting their local farmers, craftspeople and food vendors by patronizing the Northfield Farmers Market. Please join us this Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 3-6:30 p.m. on The Common for live music by singer/guitarist Michael Stridsberg and lots of fun freebies and discount promotions like the following:

- Enjoy FREE Coffee with a Cop with the Northfield Police Department.
- Farmor Farm will serve FREE crepes — fried apple or salsa cheddar.
- Buy 1.5lbs. of ground beef from Floating Bridge Family Farm and get 1.5lbs of potatoes or squash FREE.
