Have you ever experienced the "boardroom blues" when board meetings are too long, unproductive, boring to the point of being frustrating? Have you witnessed boards behaving badly to the point they lose good people?  Would you like to see what the alternative looks like---how a board can make a real difference? Then come learn about Policy Governance, a system of governance through which boards conceptualize, organize and fulfill their mandate. The Barstow Unified Union (BUU) School Board has been using this model since 2015 and will share its experience thus far. Led by Deborah Singiser, Chair, with input from all school board members, this is a great opportunity for folks who are currently board members or thinking of serving. The BUU Board will show you how rewarding this experience can be!
