SAVE-THE-DATE!
Need a break from the holiday hustle and bustle? Release your inner artist and join your friends and neighbors for an afternoon of Surrealist Games and a Holiday Cookie Swap at the Broad Brook Community Center on Sunday, December 22, 2019, 1 PM - 4 PM. This is an all-ages, family-friendly event.
Hosted by Roger Clark Miller (Mission of Burma, Alloy Orchestra), individuals can learn and play riotous mind-bending games that were developed by Andre Breton and his co-conspirators during the 1920's and '30's, the heyday of Surrealism. Miller will not only explain and lead the games to kick off the event, but he'll also DJ – providing a surrealistic soundtrack to the afternoon. Says Miller, "A great virtue of these games is that they are not at all competitive. A person who is an experienced artist may interact with a more naive drawer to produce a brilliant composition. It's all about the collective work."
Play games and leave with delicious holiday cookies - more details to come!
