Kidpower is an international nonprofit that runs workshops for children, teens, and adults. Its mission is to provide effective and empowering child protection, positive communication, advocacy, personal safety, and self-defense skills – for all ages, abilities, cultures, beliefs, genders, and identities, locally and around the world.

Carpenter-Carse Library and Charlotte Library have teamed up to sponsor a Kidpower Vermont Everyday Safety Parent-Child Workshop. Children learn Everyday Safety skills and get lots of hands-on practice on how to stay safe in a wide variety of situations, from being on their own to dealing with bullying or peer pressure, and setting boundaries with people they know. Parents are guided in practicing the skills together with their children. At home, families can continue to practice, and integrate the concepts into their everyday lives.

Free. Space is limited. Please email jill@carpentercarse.org or call 802-482-2878 to register. Slots are reserved for children, ages 6-12, accompanied by an adult who will also participate in the workshop.

This project is funded in part by the National Library of Medicine,National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under Cooperative Agreement Number UG4LM012347 with the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester.
