The Basics of State Government and How to Talk to Your Legislators
This interactive workshop, both fun and informative where participants receive general and practical information on the functions of the three branches of government; how a bill becomes a law; who represents you in your district; current issues and interests; the workings of the Legislature; how to find out what is going on in the Legislature; how to testify on a bill; how to communicate effectively with Legislators, and how to advocate for your needs and interests.

Presenters: Gini Milkey, Former Legislator, member of COVE Policy Committee and COVE's "Grow Bold" team and Ruby Baker, COVE Executive Director and Lobbyist
