SUSTAINABLE SARATOGA RECYCLE DAY Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 9 AM-2 PM SPAC Parking Lot, west side of Route 50

Sustainable Saratoga's first ever Saratoga Recycles Day in 2017 was an amazing success. We collected more than 11,000 pounds of textiles, at least 80 bikes, and tons of scrap metal, diverting these things from the landfill. Our 2018 event was even bigger (read about our 2018 event). We are excited to host our third Saratoga Recycles Day this October. This event is planned and run by Sustainable Saratoga's amazing volunteers, and we thank them for their dedication to this effort.

Please note that there will be a $5 entrance fee per vehicle. Again this year, household TVs and monitors can be recycled for an additional fee of $20 each, which helps us offset the cost that we have to pay to get these items properly recycled. We encourage people to coordinate with their friends and neighbors to combine items into one vehicle.

We're collecting the following items:
Eyeglasses & Hearing Aids
Fabric, Notions & Art Supplies: cloth, yarn, craft paper, frames, buttons, canvas, scissors, thread, craft books, patterns, stamps, jewelry supplies, art supplies and materials. Clean materials only! NO mildew, animal or mothball odors, and no toxins on the materials. NO clothing at this station.
Clothing & Household Textiles (any condition): clothes, coats, shoes, belts, hats, gloves, sleeping bags, backpacks, sheets, quilts, comforters, towels, rags, etc. NO pillows, carpeting, or rugs with rubber backing.
Bicycles: Bikes of all sizes. Bicycle exchange okay.
Electronics & Appliances: Refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, toasters, blenders, coffee machines, hot plates, cable or satellite receivers, audio/visual equipment, cell phones, computers & accessories, printers, VCRs, DVD players, video game systems, wiring & cables, etc. NO smoke detectors or thermostats.
TVs and monitors can be recycled for $20 each
Metal Objects: basketball hoops, grills, metal lawn care equipment, etc. for scrap metal recycling

WE CANNOT ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: Pillows, Carpeting, Rugs with rubber backing, Batteries, Thermostats, Smoke detectors, Fluorescent light bulbs, Toxic/hazardous materials.
