Did you know that October is domestic violence awareness month?

On October 5 join staff and supporters of Steps to End Domestic Violence for Take Steps In Their Shoes, the nonprofit's annual fundraising event, starting at noon at ArtsRiot in Burlington.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at www.stepsvt.org/take-steps

Folks who have been affected by domestic violence will take to the stage to share their personal experiences. Following the storytelling session, attendees will walk together - many in purple shoes, the color associated with domestic violence awareness - through Burlington's South End, reflecting on what they have heard and how they can relate and work to make a difference in their world. A silent auction will allow participants to financially support the work and take home something great.
