"CALVIN COOLIDGE: VERMONT IS A STATE I LOVE"

Tracy Messer will explain how the world came to know the "brave little state of Vermont" through his first-person portrayal of our 30th President of the United States. Messer, of Peterborough NH, has been sharing his love of history with people of all ages throughout the course of his personal and professional life. It was in September 1928 that President Coolidge delivered his eloquent impromptu speech after touring Vermont by train to see the recovery efforts following the devastating floods of 1927, and this presentation was created to honor the 90th anniversary. This is the fifth of nine Fall Series lectures sponsored by the Lamoille Valley Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and will be on Wednesday October 2 at the Commodores Inn, 823 S. Main Street, Stowe. Sessions start promptly at 1:30 p.m. There is a $5 fee for non-members.
