The town of Cabot will celebrate its 59th Annual Fall Foliage Festival on Tuesday, October 1 and invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy the autumn colors, spectacular views and all the other things that make Vermont & Cabot special in the fall.
At the 2019 Cabot Fall Foliage Event you will enjoy:
- Browsing wares produced by Cabot area artists and craftspeople and viewing a special Fiber Arts exhibit at the Cabot Artisans Gallery;
- Reveling in the colors of Cabot's fall foliage by taking a trail walk, hike, tours and shutterbug tour highlighting some of the best views in Vermont;
- Homemade meals for lunch and supper –
Corn chowder and chili lunch served from 11:30 am – 1 pm. ($6 adults, $2.50 children)
Turkey supper - seatings at 5:00 and 6:15 pm. ($15 adults, $5 children);
-Touring local points of interest including, the Cabot Creamery, Burtt's Apple Orchard, & Klingler Wood Carving & Art Gallery; and
- Great live entertainment including:
Americana-roots and folk duo, Dana and Susan Robinson performing selections from their new, Vermont-inspired recording, The Town That Music Saved. Dana and Susan combine vivid, songwriting and storytelling, with fiddle tunes, banjo grooves, elegant melodies, and rich harmony singing. Their compositions have been featured in Ken Burns's "The National Parks, America's Best Idea" and "The Dust Bowl." Seven Days writes, "Dana is a master storyteller, spinning his yarns with the precise skill of an artisan loom weaver."
To conclude a grand day, Cabot Arts will present the Fall Foliage Festival Variety Show with a program of beloved local talent including:
• Dana and Susan Robinson (folk & Americana)
• The Kowal Family Band (bluegrass)
• Cabot Community Theater (music & comedy)
• Humorous readings from RD Eno and Ron LaySleeper
• The New Economistas (folk)
• The Outerburgs (Oldtime Stringband)
• The Mencucci's Mandoin Duo
• And more!
Festivities begin at 10 am and run throughout the day.
