Concert to Benefit Malayaka House on Friday October 18th @ 7PM at Charlotte Congregational Church (403 Church Hill Rd.. 802-425-3176)

Flutist Anne Janson & pianist Annemieke McLane will play music by Prokofiev, Schumann and Poulenc.  Donations accepted at the door (a portion of the proceeds will go directly to Malayaka House in Uganda (malayakahouse.com)

MUSICIAN BIOS:
Anne Janson is a deeply rooted native Vermonter. After studying and living in such places as London, England, and New York City, she chose to remain in Vermont because of her love of the lifestyle and the beauty of the landscape. In the 1980's she established herself in Vermont as a professional musician by becoming a member of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and securing flute teaching positions at the University of Vermont and Middlebury College. She subsequently raised her own family. In Vermont she fulfills many passions, including sailing on Lake Champlain and skiing.
 
Annemieke McLane grew up and studied in the Netherlands. She has received her Masters in Piano Performance, as a soloist, with specialization in Chamber Music and Art Song Accompaniment. She has been teaching piano for 11years at Saint Michael's College; Played for the Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble for 3 years; was pianist for SMC chorale for 11 years, while playing also for the VYO choruses (including performing Beethoven's Choral phantasy) and was founding member of the Heliand Consort. She was pianist for the Thetford Chamber Singers until 2013. Then she has been pianist since 2013/2014 for the Handel Society at Dartmouth College and the Theater Department and she teaches at her home studio. Annemieke is the music director of the United Church of Strafford.
