Seattle-based songwriter, singer, bassist Laura Love will be making a rare Vermont appearance at Sugarhouse Soundworks in Waitsfield's Mad River Park, Thursday, October 3, at 7:30pm.
Love's music is an unclassifiable melting pot of folk, funk, reggae, gospel, jazz, bluegrass, zydeco, and more, all rolled into one wild bundle. Her lyrics range from touching, to political, to humorous, and her incredible voice runs an equal gamut, from angelic, to commanding, to yodeling. She has released 11 albums on major and minor labels and toured the US, Canada, and Australia many times over, performing in clubs, theaters, and at virtually every major music festival.
Billboard Magazine called Love "startlingly original," and added, "Her music is spare, yet striking. Her voice is ripe, supple, strong, and impossible to ignore." And The New York Times proclaimed, "Her music is exuberant. … She conveyed the fervor of someone reaching out with an almost frenzied joy to seize the strands of a confusing life and weave them into a coherent, life-affirming vision."
This will be an intimate show in the Sugarhouse Soundworks studio. Tickets are just $20, and only a very limited number are still available. Tickets can be purchased here: https://sevendaystickets.com/events/Laura-Love-Duo-10--3-2019
