WWRA Member Ramble at Steve Soszinski's Woodlands

WWRA "rambles" are informal walks through one of our member's woodlands. Steve will lead a gentle evening walk through his 72 acre property, which includes forest, fields, wetlands and several large ponds. The forest is a mix of mostly mature softwood and deciduous woodlands with well-maintained trails. The property is enrolled in UVA, but was neglected by the previous owner and Steve has been on an enthusiastic learning curve to manage the invasives and to implement the forestry plan. Sadly, the powerline right of way has been a conduit for the invasive species that plague our area.

Directions from Exit 1: South on Route 5. At the Guilford Country Store, turn Right onto Guilford Center Road. Continue 1.1 mile. The house is on the right soon after the Blueberry Haus on the left.
