Climate Strike in Craftsbury, on the common September 20, Noon to 1 pm
Calling on all Vermonters and those locally, to join the Global Climate Strike on the Green in Craftsbury. Stop business as usual and address our climate crisis. Walkout of school and businesses and step up, speak out and do our share to protect current and future generations against the worst impacts of global warming.
The Vermont Climate Strike Coalition demands the following:
* Comprehensive and immediate solutions rooted in the respect for and dignity of all people.
* Support for just policies that transition rapidly to a clean and renewable energy economy for all.
* A commitment to keeping fossil fuels in the ground.
* A just and inclusive movement that centers frontline communities.
We refuse to sit by while the Trump administration, hand-in-hand with fossil fuel executives, continue their campaign of climate denial and policy rollbacks, all while we face extreme heat waves, hurricanes, floods, and wildfires. In the U.S., communities representing every race, ethnicity, and generation are demanding real climate action from elected officials and those running for office.
We demand economic transformation that works for our collective right to a sustainable, healthy, and livable future. With the leadership of young people, now is the time for all of us to come together on September 20th and beyond to demand real climate leaders at the national, state and local levels.
