Diabetes Prevention Program Begins on April 2 at Library
It is spring, the time of new beginnings. Wouldn’t it be great to be in the position right now where one change for the good would influence you for the rest of your life? If you are at risk for type 2 diabetes, the changes that you create now in your lifestyle and eating habits will deliver good health to you for the rest of your life.
If this sounds like something you would like to learn to do, come to the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program at Morristown Centennial Library beginning on April 2 at 5:30 pm. This program lasts for a year, with 16 weekly sessions at the library, followed by monthly maintenance.
You will learn how to eat healthier meals, increase physical activity, and other changes that will make you healthier and happier. NIH data shows type 2 diabetes cases can be reduced by 60 percent if programs like this one are used.
Please call Jean Audet at 802-888-6026 for more information and to see if you qualify for the program. You must pre-register.
You will meet in a small group setting in a private area in the library.
This program is offered free of charge through a partnership with Vermont Blueprint for Health. The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Diabetes Prevention Program and is nationally supported by the Diabetes Prevention and Control Alliance.
